From custom maps to survival world downloads from your favorite YouTube, the process off install Minecraft Maps in 1.18.1 is exactly the same. So, without anymore delay, here is how to download Minecraft worlds in 1.18.1!

First things first, you will need to download a map that is compatible with Minecraft 1.18.1. This is actually very, very important as 1.17 maps will not work correctly in Minecraft 1.18.1. Maps must be made for Minecraft 1.18.1 for them to work. The good news is we have a list of Minecraft maps that are 1.18.1 compatible. When you find a Minecraft 1.18.1 world that you like, click the green ‘Download’ button under it. You will then be taken to that maps download page. From there, sadly, the download process is different for every 1.18.1 Minecraft map.

When you do get your Minecraft map downloaded, it will be a .zip file. Right click on this file, click ‘Extract’, and the ‘Extract All’. You will then be given a folder with the same name as your .zip file. Open this folder and keep opening the folders within that folder until you see things like ‘DIM1’ and ‘DIM-1’. When you see these files and folders, go back one folder. Drag this folder to your desktop. Now, delete all other folders except the one you moved to your desktop. When you open the folder on your desktop you should the ‘DIM1’, ‘Region’, etc. folders and files.

Finally, we can move on to how to install the Minecraft Maps you want in Minecraft 1.18.1. To do this, press the Windows Key on your keyboard and ‘R’ at the exact same time. This will open your ‘Run’ application. In the text box in the Run app, type ‘%appdata%’, and hit enter. Your .minecraft folder will open up. In this folder, you will see a ‘saves’ folder. Open this folder, and drag-and-drop the map folder from your desktop into this saves folder. You have now installed your Minecraft world!

To play your Minecraft map in 1.18.1, open up Minecraft 1.18.1 and from the main menu, click on ‘Single Player’. Your Minecraft world will be there! You can just double click on it to launch into your world. If you are prompted to back-up your world, make sure you do so!
