I was curious to see what animation apps where out there that might replace Adobe Animate in my animation workflow. To make things more interesting I decided to only look at free apps and to my surprise there is some pretty good stuff out there. Here is my list of free animation apps that have a lot to offer like frame by frame animation, tweening, easing in and out even custom drawing brushes.

I use pencil 2d and the main problem is that you can’t rotate any images. The way I animate is by making assets (like the body and then you draw the limbs and face) and a main issue is I can’t rotate the body so it is always awkwardly right up. Just letting you know
